Mother's Day Flower Pot Brownies (Print Version)

Brownies baked in mini flower pots, layered with whipped cream and Oreo "dirt", finished with edible flowers.

# Components:

→ Brownies

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
02 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 large eggs
04 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
05 - 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
07 - 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Oreo dirt

09 - 16 Oreo sandwich cookies

→ Decoration

10 - 3/4 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
11 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
12 - Edible flowers (violets, pansies) or colorful gummy candies
13 - Fresh mint leaves (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). If using oven-safe mini flower pots, line the bottoms with parchment; otherwise line a baking pan to bake a single slab for cutting later.
02 - Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat; remove from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar and vanilla until smooth.
03 - Add eggs one at a time, whisking briskly after each addition until the mixture is glossy and homogenous.
04 - Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into a bowl; fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
05 - Divide the batter among six cleaned, oven-safe mini flower pots (roughly 200 ml capacity) or spread evenly in the prepared baking pan.
06 - Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs; remove from oven and cool completely.
07 - Place Oreo cookies (with filling) in a food processor and pulse to a fine crumb; alternatively seal in a bag and crush with a rolling pin to a soil-like texture.
08 - Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar to stiff peaks using an electric mixer; keep refrigerated until assembly.
09 - If brownies were baked in a tray, cut portions to fit into each flower pot; otherwise proceed with the baked portions in the pots.
10 - Place the brownie portion in each pot, spread a layer of whipped cream over the brownie, then sprinkle the Oreo crumbs generously to resemble soil.
11 - Top each pot with edible flowers, gummy 'flowers' and/or mint leaves to create a garden presentation; adjust decorations for visual balance.
12 - Refrigerate the assembled pots until ready to serve to allow the cream to set and flavors to meld.
