Caramel Apple Pastry Bites (Print Version)

# Components:

01 - Prepared puff pastry sheets, thawed as per manufacturer’s instructions
02 - Apple mixture (finely diced peeled apples combined with cinnamon and sugar)
03 - Soft caramel candies, halved

→ Egg Wash

04 - 1 large egg
05 - 2 tablespoons whole milk
06 - Coarse sugar, for sprinkling (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Place a small spoonful of apple mixture and half a caramel candy at the center of each pastry square.
02 - Fold the pastry squares by pinching corners together and sealing the edges, enclosing the filling.
03 - Set filled pouches seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush the egg wash over the tops of each pastry bite. Optionally, sprinkle with coarse sugar.
05 - Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 16 to 18 minutes until puffy and golden brown.
06 - Allow bites to cool slightly before serving, as the caramel will be hot.
