01 - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine whole milk, heavy cream, and pumpkin purée. Whisk continuously until completely blended and the mixture steams, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
02 - Add chopped white chocolate, granulated sugar, pumpkin pie spice, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk steadily until the chocolate melts and the mixture is hot but not boiling, about 5 to 6 minutes.
03 - Taste and adjust sweetness to preference, adding more sugar if needed.
04 - Portion hot chocolate into mugs. Garnish with whipped cream and a light dusting of pumpkin pie spice or ground cinnamon, if desired. Serve immediately.
